About Site 390 - Rockwood

This past year marked our 29th annual Terry Fox Run in Rockwood, Ontario.  We have now raised over one hundred thousand dollars for the Terry Fox Foundation over the past years and averaged 25 participants.  This year alone we raised about ninety-five hundred dollars and had 38 participants walk, run and ride bikes through the neighbourhoods of Rockwood. 

The Rockwood/Stone United Church youth group organized the run for years, until the number of members got to small to organize the event.  Now the Stone United Church council helps sponser the event.  Please feel free to visit Stone's Website to find out what else the church is up to. 

In the beginning, we ran from Rockwood P.S. to the Stone church on the fourth line of Eramosa twp. and back.  Safety issues crossing Hwy. 7 forced a change in routes, and now we enjoy the neighbourhoods of the town.  Every year the route changes slightly to incorporate new subdivisions in Rockwood.  We hope to see growing support in the community over the next number of years.

The very first TFR attracted 300,000 participants across Canada and raised three and a half million dollars.  To date more than three hundred sixty million dollars has been raised in Terry's name worldwide.
